#AXISCADES Technologies Limited announced an agreement with Indra on June 16, 2025, through a press release. This strategic alliance involves Indra, a European-based global leader in defense, aerospace, and strategic systems, and AXISCADES, a technology solutions provider in defense, aerospace, and strategic electronics. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the Aerospace Show in Le Bourget by Indra’s CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos, and AXISCADES’ Chairman, Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan, in the presence of Indra Chairman, Angel Escribano, and AXISCADES CEO & MD, Alfonso Martínez.
Future Prospects and Business Opportunities:
The partnership aims to boost the production of cutting-edge systems in India. Indra is interested in acquiring defense-related products and services from AXISCADES, which will be delivered through AXISCADES’ design, development, production, and supply chain center.
Specific solutions that the agreement aims to manufacture in India include:
- Antennas for Indra’s Tactical Air Navigation Systems (TACAN).
- Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) which provides in-flight information to aircraft.
- Countermeasure systems, which are part of a broader Indra-designed system to protect aircraft from potential missile attacks, such as MANPADS.
Both companies are actively exploring joint product development for both the Indian and global markets. This could involve adapting existing Indra products or creating new ones tailored to customer needs. Furthermore, Indra and AXISCADES are evaluating collaborations in MPA Airborne Solutions and are exploring a dedicated partnership for DRDO CABS MRMR and MMMA programs.
This collaboration is intended to strengthen Indra’s position in the global aerospace systems market and its network of alliances worldwide. Concurrently, it contributes to enhancing the capabilities of Indian companies, as Indra has had a strong presence in India for years, providing cutting-edge systems and technologies to various sectors, including the Armed Forces and civil air traffic management.
